Our Christian Education programs include Sunday school for all ages, a youth program, and intergenerational events.

Sunday School
Heidelberg UCC has a heritage of Sunday School programs for ages 3 years to adult. Sunday School classes meet from 9:15-10:15 on Sunday mornings, directly before the worship service.  The classes run from September through the end of May.

We're EXCITED to be able to offer Sunday School for ALL AGES on Sunday mornings:

+ Children's Class - ages 3 to 5th grade will be taught by Sara McDowell and helpers.

+ Middle School Class - grades 6-8 will be taught by Matt McDowell and helpers.

+ Senior High Class - grades 9-12 will be taught by Pastor Adrian and helpers

+ Adult Class - will be taught by Alicia Alvarez in the fall and lead by Doug MacWade in the Spring

Our confirmation classes are held every other year for those children in early high school.  The present class, 2018-2019, takes place on the first Sunday of every month during the Sunday School hour.

Vacation Bible School
Each summer, during the month of June, a fun-filled week of Vacation Bible School is held in the evenings. Biblical themes are taught through drama, crafts, music and activities in small groups, with children rotating through activity stations to keep learning interesting and exciting.

This past summer VBS was from June 24 - 28, 2019.

Nursery care is available for children up to age five during worship services.  Children experience a fun learning environment where they play, do crafts, sing songs, make friends and are also guided in for part of the morning worship service, 'Children's Chat'.

Children are always WELCOME to remain in the worship service with us. We have activity bags and books outside the sanctuary door (door near choir loft) available for use. We also invite children to participate in the Children's Chat part of the service with Pastor Adrian ... who always has a lollipop to give to the children afterwards.
At HUCC we are hold a 'Safe Church' Policy, so that you can feel fully comfortable knowing your children are being watched in a safe and caring environment as they grow in the spiritual lives.
