Mission Outreach & Service
A major focus at Heidelberg UCC has always been what we can do for others, beginning with the church, branching out into the community, and reaching to the world.

Within our church, members support each other with such activities as visiting shut-ins, providing rides, delivering meals through our Helping Hands committee, and sending cards and notes through our Caring Hands committee.

We serve our community through our Creative Hands committee that makes items such as infant caps and lap robes for a local hospital; wheelchair and walker bags for those in need; and blankets, hats, and sweaters for a community housing organization. We cook and serve once a month at Trinity Soup Kitchen in Pottstown, and continually support local groups through collectons and donations, such as Bethany Children's Home, Ian's Boots, Chosen 300 and Liberty Ministries. Food collection and volunteering for the Daily Bread Community Food Pantry is ongoing as well as many of our parishioners volunteer weekly here. At Christmas, we collect "White Gifts" (hats, gloves and socks) given to the local Salvation Army for disribution to those in need.

Our far-reaching world missions include support of Heifer Project International, The Narenj Tree Foundation, and through Our Church's Wider Mission - missionaries all over the world. Each month the children of the church, through their offerings, support two children in India with sponsorships through Global Ministries.

Missions are truly are a vital component of the life of our church, with involvement from our young children to our teens to our elderly. We are a family of faith who is trying to make the world  - locally and globally - better in any way we can.
